It is an essential oil derived from the needles, leaves, bark and berries of Juniperus virginia, J. ashei and J. mexicana belonging to the family Cupressaceae. It is native to the mountains of the western Himalayas and the Mediterranean region. It is highly nutritious for skin as it fights against fungal infections and also helps to reduce redness and inflammation in acne.
