Ferulic acid is an amber coloured solid having a strong unpleasant smell with a bitter sour taste. Ferulic acid is commonly found in commelinid plants like rice, wheat, oats, and pineapple and are also found in grasses, grains, vegetables, flowers, fruits, leaves, beans, seeds of coffee, artichoke, peanut and nuts. Ferulic acid has low toxicity and it exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial activity, anticancer, and Antidiabetic effects. It helps in reducing blood pressure and risk of heart attack. Ferule acid liposules are used for water insoluble actives.
