Amla is obtained from fresh and dried fruits of Emblica officinalis and phyllanthus emblica. It belongs to the family Euphoebiaceae. It contains hydrolysable tannins like emblicanin A and B, gallic acid, ellagic acid, vitamin C and phyllemblin. It helps in building the immune system and provides resistance against many disease.
