Sodium lactate is clear colourless viscous liquid with mild odour. It is sodium salt of lactic acid, and has mild saline taste. It is produced by fermentation of a sugar source, such as corn or beets. It acts as natural humectant and is frequently used as a substitute for glycerin in lotions, creams, hair care products and cosmetics. Sodium lactate encapsules are helpful in protecting heat/temperature sensitive active substances. These are in the form of free flowing powder form. These are stable towards heat and temperature and have long lasting effect.
