Palm fibre oil has a rich orange colour and has a faint and fresh odour with a savoury and earthy taste. It's an edible vegetable oil that comes from the fruit of oil palm trees, the scientific name is Elaeis guineensis and are mostly found in Asia, Indonesia and America. It is rich in oleic acid, beta-carotene, and vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols). Palm oil is used for human consumption: margarine, basic vegetable fat, food oil, cooking oil and specialist fats. It is also used to make derivatives for industrial use: fatty acids, soaps and cosmetics, industrial soaps, inks, resins and methyl esters.
